Attorney Deguang Zhang Appointed to
STATE COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT
Beijing, China — May 18, 2004 — Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao appointed
Deguang Zhang, a partner in the law firm of Zhang, Wang & Lee, to be a standing
member of the State Council Committee on Foreign Direct Investment, beginning
June 15, 2004, in Beijing, China. Mr. Zhang was the only practicing attorney invited
to take part in the Committee planning meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of
Justice. The Committee will confront the many issues facing foreign direct
investments in China today.
Mr. Zhang, whose practice focuses on corporate law and international investment
in China, is a member of the National Bar Association of China. He is a graduate of
Fudan University Law School and is a frequent speaker on foreign direct investments
in China. He will be a presenter at the Shanghai Conference on Foreign Direct
Investments in China scheduled to begin on May 29, 2004 in the beautiful downtown
Peace Hotel. He also serves on the boards of the Sino-US Legal Exchange Project
and the National Bar Association of China.
